Ethics Statement

Contemporary Aesthetics is committed to upholding the highest standards of professional conduct for the Editor, the Editorial Board, all Editorial Assistants, its authors, and reviewers.

These standards include impartiality, confidentiality, inclusivity, and a commitment to linguistic justice. The Editor, the Board, and all Assistants maintain these grounding principles.

Authors must attest that the work they submit is original, that it is written by the author, that it has not been published in English, and that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Reviewers must agree to evaluate work only when they are qualified to assess it fairly, when they do not have a conflict of interest, and when they are able to complete the review within the timeframe specified by the Editor.

In the interest of inclusivity and linguistic justice, the Editor may return submissions by non-Anglophone authors to be edited by Anglophone academic writers and notify reviewers that the writing will be copyedited in-house if accepted for publication.
